View Tribute and Sign Guestbook RAYNHAM – Evelyn (Rego) Oliveira, 86, a Raynham resident since 1979, died at Morton Hospital in Taunton Monday, January 28, 2008 as a result of complications of heart failure and pneumonia. Born in Somerset, MA, daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Gallego) Rego, she was the wife of the late Lawrence A. Oliveira, “the guy next door,” to whom she was married for more than fifty-six years.
Mrs. Oliveira was educated in the Somerset Public Schools and was a retired bookkeeper for more than twenty years at the Electrolux Co. She was a very active member of the Portuguese communities in the area. A communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Raynham, she was member of the Sociable Senior Citizens of Raynham. She was a championship bowler, having won many trophies.
Mrs. Oliveira was the mother of the late Beverly Marie Whalen. In her elderly years, she loved to go for rides and eat out with different friends. She loved to sit in her favourite chair and watch the different birds coming and going through the several bird feeders that were in her yard.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann’s Church in Raynham Thursday, January 31, 2008, at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Pleasant Street Cemetery, Raynham. Visiting hours will be held in THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, from 9:00 to 10:30AM.
