TAUNTON / ARKANSAS – Alyce M. Fernandes, 71, of Stephens, Arkansas, formerly of Taunton, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010, in Little Rock, AR, at the Baptist Medical Center. Born in Boston, Alyce was educated in the Stoughton Public Schools and had been a resident of Taunton for over forty-nine years.

She was retired from Home Depot where she had been a front end supervisor. She previously had worked at Bradlees and at several braches of the Sovereign Bank in the area. After having moved to Arkansas, she worked part time at Wal-Mart.

She was the thirty-year companion of Calvin Jones of AR, formerly of Taunton, and the mother of Rochelle Silva of Taunton and Mark Fernandes and his wife Daphne of Miami, FL. Alyce was the former wife of the late Richard Fernandes. She was the grandmother and great-grandmother of several, as well as the sister of Margaret Evans, Anthony Fernandes, Susan Fernandes, Shirley Guillmette, Sandra Offley, Steven Fernandes, Sister Johanna Fernandes, Arthur Fernandes, and the late Carol Jean Davidson. Alyce is also survived by the children of her companion, Belinda Webster of Ohio; Carlton Webster of Boston; Carla Webster-Reid and Jeffrey of Boston; Tina Jones of Taunton; Calvin Jones, Jr., of Fall River and Myneisha Coward of Tennessee. Alyce was also the sister-in-law of several.

Funeral Information

Relatives and fiends are invited to attend a funeral service in the Baptist Church of All Nations, 61 Winthrop St., Taunton Friday, June 18, 2010, at 10:00 AM. With interment to follow to follow in Mayflower Hill Cemetery, Taunton.
