Donald L. Carr

December 16, 1932 - November 27, 2005

Donald L. Carr, 72, of Elm Street in Dighton passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with colon cancer on Sunday, November 27, 2005 at his residence.

He was the husband of fifty-three years to Delores (Ferriera) Carr. Born in Dighton, MA on December 16, 1932 the son of the late Herbert Carr Jr. and the late Annie (Simcock) Carr, he was a self employed contractor for many years and retired several years ago. He enjoyed auto racing involving midget and sprints, and was the founder of Bay State Carting Association, and enjoyed restoring antique cars.

Survivors beside his wife are a daughter Brenda L. Carr of Dighton, MA two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Douglas L. Carr and brother of the late Emily A. Carpenter, and Ralph W. Carr.

Funeral Information

His funeral will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2005 at 10am in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA Relatives and friends are invited to attend, burial to follow in the Dighton Unitarian Church Cemetery. Calling hours with a video photo album are Wednesday, November 30, 3005 from 4-7pm.
