Frances (Andrade) Serpa

TAUNTON – Frances (Andrade) Serpa, 87, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, in Morton Hospital in Taunton. Born in Lowell, MA, the daughter of the late Julio and Emily (Medeiras) Andrade, she was the wife of Joseph Serpa.

Educated in the Taunton Public Schools and a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Church in Taunton, Mrs.Serpa was a retired press operator for the Modern Plastic Company, having worked there for twenty-three years. She also had worked at the Chocolate Factory in Mansfield.

She and her husband, Joseph, spent many happy years camping with the Herring Runners and also enjoying spending time with the Acushnet Jolly Seniors. Mrs. Serpa spent the past six years as a resident of the Marian Manor.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Christine Serpa, and a son Joseph Serpa, Jr., both of Taunton. She was grandmother of William Serpa and Melissa Floran, both of Taunton, and the great-grand mother of six. Mrs. Serpa was the sister of Dolores Carvalho of Acushnet and Beatrice Levesque of New Bedford and the aunt of several.
