SOMERSET – Henry L. Entwistle, Jr., 66, of Somerset, died peacefully at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston on Friday, November 9, 2007. Born in New York City, the son of the late Henry L. Entwistle, Sr., and Mary Elizabeth (Hill) Entwistle, he was the loving husband of Eileen (McGuire) Entwistle, with whom he shared a happily married life for twenty-one years. A graduate of Case High School, Class of 1958, and the Bradford Durfee College of Technology in Fall River, he received a Master’s Degree in Education from Rhode Island College. He taught in the Mathematics Department at Tiverton High School until his retirement in 1989. During that time he coached baseball and football and was the advisor to the high school ski club. He served as President of the Tiverton Education Association. Mr. Entwistle was a member of the First Christian Congregational Church in Swansea, where he served as moderator of the church for many years, and also was a member of the church’s Board of Trustees. He also worked part-time for the Hathaway Family Funeral Homes. He enjoyed running, skiing, golfing, and traveling. He was an avid sports fan, whose favorite teams were the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He was the loving father of Laurie (Entwistle) Dumont and her husband, Steven Dumont, and the proud grandfather of Matthew and Marissa Dumont, all of Swansea. He is also survived by nephews, David Baldwin and his wife Loretta of Middleboro, Russell Baldwin and his wife Patricia of Tewksbury, Richard Soukup and his wife Vicki of Pennsylvania, and niece, Beth Strakonsky and her husband, Frank of Maryland; several grandnieces and grandnephews. He was the brother of the late Doris Baldwin and June Campbell. Funeral InformationHis funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at 10:00AM in the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Vinnicum Woods Cemetery in Swansea.
