RAYNHAM – David Jack, 42, died at his home Wednesday, April, 1, 2009, following a period of failing health. Born in Taunton, he was educated in Dighton and Dighton-Rehoboth High School. David was a Dighton volunteer firefighter/first responder, a cross country truck driver, and a heavy equipment operator. He was, before his illness, a supervisor for Department of Youth Services for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where in implemented the first of its kind vocational small engine repair class. He also assisted the kids there in the skills to apply for jobs and to become productive citizens. David also started his own successful “Handi-Man” business. He spearheaded a local charity to help victims of Hurricane Katrina with the assistance of the American Red Cross. David was an avid Harley motorcycle rider and had been a resident of Raynham for the past fifteen years. He previously served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard and the U. S. Army Reserves. He was the husband of Lorna V. (King) Jack and the father of Tyler William Jack and Michael Francis King. David is also survived by brothers-in-law, Billy Green and his wife Joanne of Florida, and John Gonsalves, III, and his wife Sherri of Raynham. He was the uncle of Tiffany Jack, Bethany Green and Hunter Gonsalves, and the son-in-law of the late Victoria “Vicky” Mosier. Funeral InformationFuneral to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held in THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, Monday, April 6, 2009, at 1:00PM. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 11:00AM to 1:00PM, prior to the service. Interment will follow in Pleasant Street Cemetery, Raynham.
