Seymour J. Filler

FALL RIVER – Seymour J. Filler, 91, of Montgomery Street, Fall River, died at his residence Saturday, February 10, 2007. Born in Bronx, New York, March 22, 1915, the son of the late Jacob and Lena (Srebnik) Filler, he was the husband of sixty six years of Ruth (Bloom) Filler.

Mr. Filler graduated from Boston University with a degree in business administration in 1936. He worked as a box manufacturer at the former Champion Box Company in Fall River for twenty-five years before retiring several years ago. He was a very active member of Temple Beth El in Fall River and many other Jewish organizations. He volunteered at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River for a number of years and was known for his kindness and good humor.

Besides his wife, Mr. Filler is survived by a son, Mark Filler of Portland, Maine; a daughter, Sara Anne Fox of Los Angeles, California; a brother, Aaron Filler of Israel; four grandchildren and one great- grandchild.

Funeral Information

His funeral service will be held Monday, February 12, 2007, at 1:00PM in Temple Beth El, 385 High St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in the Temple Beth El Cemetery, Fall River. The memorial observance is private at the request of his family.
