Aurore Marguerite Higbe

NEW BEDFORD – Aurore Marguerite (Blanchette) Higbe, 87, of Bridge Street, died Friday, January 9, 2009, at Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. Born in New Bedford, MA, the daughter of the late August and Lea (Leblanc) Blanchette, she was the wife of the late Charles B. Higbe.

Mrs. Higbe had worked in the garment industry in New Bedford for many years as a stitcher. She was a member of Saint Joseph’s Church in Fairhaven.

She leaves two sons, Allan Higbe and his wife Lorraine of Marlboro (MA) and Kenneth C. Higbe of Fairhaven; a sister, Irene Picard of California; and two grandchildren, Angela and Jessica Higbe. Mrs. Higbe was the sister of the late Roland Blanchette and Cecile Cardoza.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at 10:15AM from THE FAIRHAVEN FUNERAL HOME, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven, to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM in Saint Joseph’s Church, Spring and Adams Street, Fairhaven. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Main Street. Calling Hours will be held Tuesday, January 13, from 4:00-8:00PM in the funeral home.
