Francisco S. Peixoto

TAUNTON – Francisco S. Peixoto, 95, died Friday, May 22, 2009, in the Taunton Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Faial, Azores, the son of the late Joao and Madelena (Francisca) Peixoto, he was the husband of the late Delfina Peixoto.

A resident of the USA since May 6, 1960, he worked at the Bay State Crucible until his retirement in 1980. Francisco was a communicant of the Annunciation of the Lord Church.

He is survived by his children, Joseph Peixoto, Maria Otilia Correia, and Maria Celeste Chaves, all of Taunton; he was the father-in-law of Barbara (Cabral) Peixoto, Gilberto Chaves, and the late Jose Artur Correia. Francisco was the grandfather of Susan Bertram of Danielson, CT, Steven Peixoto of Broomfield, CO, Derek Chaves of Charleston, SC, and Kevin Correia of Taunton. He is survived by five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Delfina Soito of Taunton and Manuel Peixoto of Middletown, RI, and the late Joao, Maria, Filomena, Madelena, Jose and Thomas.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral from THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton, Thursday, May 28, 2009, at 9:00AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Annunciation of the Lord Church, 31 First St., Taunton, at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, May 27, from 6:00-8:00PM in the funeral home.
