Leonard R. Hathaway

Leonard R. Hathaway, 79, longtime resident of South Attleboro, passed into the arms of the Lord, Monday, April 17, 2017. He was the loving husband of Bette (Trowbridge) Hathaway, with whom he shared over 55 years of marriage.

Leonard was born in Hartford, CT and was the son of the late Eben F. and Helen E. (Oppenheimer) Hathaway.

Leonard was employed as an Engineer at Intricate Machine and Engineering Inc., in Attleboro, for over 30 years. He was a member of the American Red Cross and taught CPR and First Aid alongside his wife for many years. Leonard was also a member of the HAM Radio Club at Sturdy Memorial Hospital and attended Faith Alliance Church, in Attleboro. He was an accomplished marathon runner and enjoyed camping, water skiing, diving and vacations with his family in the Berkshires. Most of all, Leonard cherished the time he spent with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his son, David L. Hathaway of Attleboro; daughter, Deborah D. Mattison and her husband Keith of Cranston; brothers, Kenneth J. Hathaway and his wife Laura  and Charles R. Hathaway and his wife Amphiawan all of Attleboro, and Donald F. Hathaway and his wife Kathleen of Norton; sister, Jane C. Gookin and her husband Sylvester of Cranston; grandchildren, Jessica E. Gariepy of Cranston and Andrew D. Gariepy and his wife Hannah of Rumford, RI and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 11am, in Faith Alliance Church, 833 Pleasant St., Attleboro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Burial will be private.

Arrangements entrusted to Foley-Cook-Hathaway Funeral Home, Attleboro.
