Alice (Oliveira) Oliveira

FALL RIVER – Alice (Oliveira) Oliveira, 84, of Fairhaven, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. She was the wife of the late Gabriel “Gabe” Oliveira. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Antone and the late Emily (Santos) Oliveira, she lived most of her life in the Sassaquin area of New Bedford before moving to Fairhaven fourteen years ago.

Alice worked at Cornell Dubilier for many years and later retired from Stay Elastic. She enjoyed watching NASCAR races and was an excellent cook, who loved to cook and bake for everyone.

She is survived by two sons, Raymond J. Oliveira and his wife Joyce of Fairhaven, and Wayne A. Oliveira and his companion Diana Cornell of New Bedford; three sisters, Margaret Pina of Onset, Mae Fortes of Taunton and Pearl Sylvia of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Randall Oliveira and his wife Lisa and Richard Oliveira and his wife Diane, all of Fairhaven, and Rebecca Winterson and her husband Kerry of New Bedford; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Oliveira was the sister of the late Fanny Oliveira, Elsie Gibeault and Marie Rose.

Funeral Information

Her funeral service will be Monday, August 2, 2010, at 11:00 AM in THE FAIRHAVEN FUNERAL HOME, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven, followed by interment in River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven.
