View Tribute and Sign Guestbook ASSONET, MA – Thomas A. Marcucci, 92, of Assonet, MA, formerly of Fall River, died Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at the Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Rafael and Carmela (Montecalvo) Marcucci, he was the husband of the late Carmela K. (Morra) Marcucci.
Mr. Marcucci was the owner and operator of Marcucci’s Bakery in Fall River for fifty years until his retirement in 1977. A communicant of Saint Bernard Church in Assonet, he was a 3rd degree knight with Knight of Columbus Cross of Christ Council and a 4th degree knight with the Bishop Cassidy Council. Thomas was also a member of the Sons of Italy, Merry Makers at the former Holy Rosary Church, and the Saint Vincent de Paul Society at Saint Bernard Church. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
He is survived by a daughter, Joyce Mires of Assonet; a sister-in-law, Therese Mora of Fairhaven, MA; four grandchildren, Mary Crump and her husband Mark of Yuma, AZ, Laurie DiChiara and Javier Morales of N. Reading, MA, Karin Catalano and her husband Anthony of Wilmington, MA, and David Mires and his wife Marci of Berkley, MA; four great-grandchildren, John Paul and Matthew Fischer and Ariana and Isabela Catalano; and also many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Carol DiChiara and the brother of the late Joseph Marcucci and Connie Ferrara.
Funeral Information
His funeral service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2009, at 8:00AM from the HATHAWAY HOME for FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM in Saint Bernard Church, 32 Main St., Assonet. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours with Video Photo Album will be Friday, October 9, from 5:00-8:00PM in the funeral home.
