George Ellsworth Harris

May 20, 1920 - May 24, 2006

George Ellsworth Harris, of Sumter, South Carolina; Born on May 20, 1920 in
Wrentham, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in Springfield, Missouri on
May 24th, 2006 with his children at his side. He was 86 years old.
A loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather; George was a highly
decorated Marksman during WWII, where he served honorably in the
United States Army earning the American Theater Campaign, American Defense
Service, and Good Conduct Medals.
He was the son of the departed Myrtle Heloise and Walter Ellsworth Harris,
of Attleboro Massachusetts and loving husband to the departed Eleanor M.
Harris. He is survived by his brother Walter E. Harris and sister-in-law
Lillian Harris, sons Ronald Bourque, George C. Harris, Gary Harris, his wife
Rose, John Harris, his wife Joy, William Harris, his wife Mary and daughters
Cherylann Harris, Wendy Harris Sabean, her husband Peter Sabean, Rue Duval,
her husband Joseph, Anne Veveiros and her husband Frank. He joined his
departed siblings in Heaven: his brother Joseph Harris, his sister Dorothea
Beland, her husband Gene Beland, his sister Gertrude Frigon and her husband
Fredrick Frigon.
Adoring grandfather to seventeen grandchildren; Mark Biagini, Melissa Jones,
Ashley Carbone, Jessica Sabean, Harrison Sabean, Chad Bourque, Christopher
Harris, Kayleen Harris, Adam Harris, Tiffany Harris (deceased), Samantha
Harris, Rebecca Harris, Chad Bourque, Melissa Duval, Mathew Duval, Pam
Kinney, and Frank Veveiros Jr.
Great grandfather to fifteen great grandchildren: Mark Biagini Jr., Samantha
Biagini, Anna Jones, Evan Jones, Chad Bourque Jr., Chloe Harris, Alyssa
Cromwell, Brittany Kinney, Shane Duval, Erica McDery, Brandon Duval, Kayla
Rappaport, Zinnion Duval, Jarrod Veveiros, and Darien Veveiros.
George enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden every spring, golfing,
traveling, swimming, hunting, playing cards, bowling and spending time with
his family. He loved to go dancing and was an excellent dance partner. He
loved a good laugh, told jokes all the time and even pulled a few pranks
from time-to-time.
After serving his country in WW II, he worked at the A&P Warehouse in
Norwood and retired from the New England Teamsters and Trucking Company.
Upon retiring, he worked for the Wrentham Development Center for many years.

Funeral Information

His calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 31th at 10 a.m. at
Foley-Hathaway Funeral Home, 126 Main Street, Attleboro; followed by a
funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Blue Hills Cemetery, 700
West Street, Braintree.

George's nurses and physician provided to him during his time of need.
