FALL RIVER – Susan M. (Hopkins) Oliveira, 53, of Pleasant Street in Fall River, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2007, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. She was the wife of the late Richard E. Oliveira and the companion of Alfred “Rocky” Carreiro of Fall River. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late William and Florence (Ainsworth) Hopkins. She graduated with the BMC Durfee High School Class of 1971, after which she spent most of her life raising her family.

Besides her companion, Mrs. Oliveira is survived by two sons, Thomas J. Oliveira and Richard E. Oliveira, both of Fall River; two sisters, Judith L. Raposa of Tiverton, RI, and Jennifer A. McClure of Kansas City, KS; four brothers, William J. Hopkins of Hudson, MA, Jeffrey Hopkins and Thomas Hopkins, both of Fall River, and Christopher W. Swiderski of Warwick, RI; a granddaughter, Amber Oliveira of Fall River; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at 11:00AM in the HATHAWAY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be held prior to the service from 9:00 to11:00AM in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the request of the family.
