Jeanette Martin

Jeanette (Vertefeuille) Martin, 68, died Tuesday, October 25, 2005 in St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of James Martin of Fairhaven. Born January 25, 1937 in Canada, the daughter of the late Zepirin and Yvonne D. (Couture) Vertefeuille, she had been living in Fairhaven since the age of 16. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, Fairhaven.

Mrs. Martin did housekeeping for Kelley’s and also worked as an inspector for Atlas Tack. She enjoyed BINGO, artwork, crafts, and going to Foxwoods. She liked going to Elder Haven and working for the Council on Ageing.

She is survived by her widower; a son, James Martin, Jr. and his companion Dorothy Freitas of New Bedford; three daughters, Pearl Beauvais of New Bedford, Debra Couto and her husband Michael of Englewood, FL, and Suzanne Maziarz and her husband James of New Bedford; a brother, John Vertefeuille of West Palm Beach, FL; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral Information

Her funeral Mass will be Monday, October 31, 2005 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Fairhaven. Inurnment will follow in River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven. Arrangements are by the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven. Calling hours will be Thursday, October 27, 2005 from 6-8 PM.
