Peter G. Violette, 89, of Lafayette Street, Somerset died Friday, July 28, 2006 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, after a brief illness. He was husband of the late Cecile D. (Letendre) Violette who died on June 12th of this year. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Peter Violette and the late Emelia (Morin) Violette, he lived in Somerset all of his life. He worked as a sewing machine mechanic with HarLee Mfg. for 22 years and then as a design engineer of the A.J. Mitchell Co. for 22 years retiring in 1978. He was a communicant of St. Louis de France Church, Swansea. During WWII, he served in the US Army medical corps seeing extensive duty in the Pacific. At home, people will remember him for the devotion he showed to his wife and family; his keen ear for music and playing the piano; and his persistent choice of dress shirt and tie to wear no matter the time of day, place or occasion. He is survived by two sons, Raymond Violette of N. Attleboro and Edward J. Violette of Somerset; a daughter, Gloria J. Wilson of Somerset; a sister, Claire Mickel Lacerda of Maine; five grandchildren; two great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Violette also had nine late brothers and sisters, Ernest, Theodore and John Violette; Yvonne Violette, Alma Bastille, Alice Violette, Rita Pelletier, Cecile Ouellette and Doris Griffin. Funeral InformationHis funeral will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 9:00 AM from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA with a 10:00 AM funeral mass in St. Louis de France Church, Buffinton Street, Swansea. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5-8 PM. Donations Information
