View Tribute and Sign Guestbook TAUNTON – Ruth W. (Macomber) Fitzgerald, 80, died in Morton Hospital in Taunton on Sunday, April 15, 2007, after a period of failing health. Born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Adelbert and Grace (Laury) Macomber, she was the wife of the late Howard L. Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Fitzgerald was educated in the Taunton Public Schools and worked as a waitress at the former Grundy’s and Bonnie Brooks Restaurants in Taunton and was also formerly employed as a cashier at the former Bay and Save and Mammount Mart Stores in Taunton. She enjoyed collecting porcelin and antique dolls, reading and going to yard sales. She was the past president of the American Legion Post 103 Auxiliary in Taunton and a member of the Lucky Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her son, Howard Fitzgerald, Jr., of East Taunton; three daughters, Kathleen Morrissey of Mansfield, Ruth Cassiere of Raynham, and Deborah Smiley of South Carolina; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Maureen Caron and the sister of the late Gladys Havner and Fred Macomber.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday, April 20, 2007, at 11:00AM in the CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton. Interment will follow the funeral in Mayflower Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held in the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00-7:00PM.
