View Tribute and Sign Guestbook ACUSHNET – Norman H. Cardin, 88, of Acushnet, passed away Friday, October 17, 2008, at Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, after a long illness. Born in New Bedford, the son of the late John B. and Marie (Salois) Cardin, he was the husband of Mary (McGreevy) Cardin.
A resident of Acushnet for the last fifty-two years, Mr. Cardin had formerly been employed by New Bedford Stevadoring Company as a fork lift mechanic. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, David Cardin of Fairhaven; a daughter, Barbara Lawton of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Scott Cardin, Steven Cardin and Kathryn Ann Lawton of Fairhaven. Mr. Cardin was the brother of the late Alfred Cardin, Joseph Cardin, Florence Reul and Bertha Parmenter.
