Jacqueline L. (Bienvenue) O'Neil

SOMERSET – Jacqueline L. (Bienvenue) O'Neil, 76, of Somerset, passed away Monday, February 9, 2009, at the Somerset Ridge Center. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Arthur and Lillian (Rouleau) Bienvenue, she was the wife of fifty-four years to William R. O’Neil.

A graduate of the Class of 1948 of the former Dominican Academy, Mrs. O’Neil was a bookkeeper at the former Stafford Furniture for several years, and Fall River Fire Place, Inc., for fifteen years, retiring in 1980. After retirement, Jacqueline spent her winters at Saint Pete Beach, Florida.

Mrs. O’Neil was a fifty year communicant of Saint Louis de France Church in Swansea. She was a choir member, as well as a member of the Ladies of Saint Anne’s, and she served on the Bingo committee. Mrs. O’Neil was a member of the Somerset Bocce league and was an avid Red sox and Patriots Fan. She enjoyed reading, current events and traveling.

Besides her husband, Mrs. O’Neil leaves a son, Brian O’Neil of Jersey City, NJ; two sisters, Pauline Heroux of Somerset and Christine Shea of Santa Clara, CA; a brother, Arthur Bienvenue of Westport, MA, and Sarasota, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lorraine Bouchard and Pauline Lussier.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held Friday, February 13, 2009, at 9:00AM from the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Saint Louis de France Church, 56 Buffinton St., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset.
