Anthony J. “Tony” Watkinson

Anthony  J. “Tony” Watkinson, 80, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017. He was the loving husband of Brenda (Read) Watkinson, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.

Anthony was born in Fall River and was a son of the late William and Clara (Finn) Watkinson.

Anthony served as Vice President of Consolidated Auto Screen for many years and also operated his own metal recycling business, called "All Metals Recycling." He was a member of Church of Our Saviour , in Somerset, for many years and also served on its Vestry and was a member of the Church Couples Club. Anthony enjoyed reading, particularly American History, traveling with his family, country music, playing cards, and playing golf. In his younger years, he enjoyed flying small planes and racing cars.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons, Mark Watkinson and his wife Anne of Somerset and Craig Watkinson of Warwick, RI; daughters, Lori-Ann Weeks of Somerset and Staci Morin and her husband Paul of Cranston; brothers, Tom, Dennis, Mike, and Tim; sisters, Franny, Ruth, Rita, Judy and Edna; eight grandchildren: Melody, Annalyn, Anthony, Tabitha, and CJ Watkinson, and David, Daniel, and Denver Weeks, as well as, many nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his siblings, Bill, Jack, Bernard and Barbara.

 

 

Funeral Information

His funeral service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017, at 10am, in Church of Our Saviour, 2112 County St., Somerset.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Burial will follow in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017, from 4-7pm, in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset.
