David A. Gonsalves

David A. Gonsalves, 52, of Fairhaven passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 31, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospital, in New Bedford.

Born in New Bedford, the son of Joan (Kisbert) Gonsalves of Fairhaven and the late Alexander Gonsalves, he was a lifelong resident of Fairhaven. David was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Fairhaven and a graduate of Fairhaven High School.

David was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a bus driver for Tremblay Bus Company and certified bus driving instructor. He graduated from BCC and was a member of the Fairhaven School Committee for the past 9 years. He enjoyed boating and camping.

Survivors include his mother; longtime companion, Jo-Anne Bousquet of Fairhaven; a son, Alexander R. Gonsalves of Fairhaven; a sister, Anne Beauregard and her husband John and their daughter Madeleine of North Grafton; a step son Brandon Bousquet and his sister Danielle of New Bedford; a granddaughter, Skylar Bousquet; an aunt, uncle and several cousins.

Funeral Information

Calling hours are Sunday from 3-6pm in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Fairhaven. His funeral will be Monday, April 7, 2014, from the funeral home at 10:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Mary’s Church, Fairhaven. Interment with Honors will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
