View Tribute and Sign Guestbook SOMERSET – Therese A. “Teri” (Alves) Getty, 73, of Adams Street, Somerset, formerly of Assonet, died Friday, February 16, 2007, at Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River. Born in Fall River, September 6, 1933, the daughter of the late Manuel and Lillian (Benevides) Alves, she was the wife of the late Albert R. Getty.
Mrs. Getty worked as Town Clerk in Assonet for several years and then as a self-employed real estate agent; she also served as a legal secretary for Sherwin, Gottlieb, and Lowenstein in Fall River. She enjoyed sports cars.
Mrs. Getty is survived by a daughter, Anne M. Aloi of Charlottesville, VA; two sons, Mark E. Sullivan of Attleboro, MA, and Albert M. Getty of Milbury, MA; and four grandchildren, Mark, Keri, Jake, and Amanda. She was the sister of Anne Grant of Maryland.
Funeral Information
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at 9:00AM, from the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in Saint Bernard Church, 32 Main St., Assonet. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in the Assonet Burying Ground, Assonet. CALLING HOURS with VIDEO PHOTO ALBUM will be observed in the funeral home Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00PM.
