View Tribute and Sign Guestbook SOMERSET–Shirley A. (Pacheco) Martin, 71, of County Street in Somerset, passed away Friday, January 26, 2007, at Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River. She was the wife of the late Robert Martin. Born in Fall River, MA, on May 31, 1935, Shirley was the daughter of the late Alfred and Anne (Trembley) Pacheco.
A graduate of BMC Durfee High School, she worked for Chace Leather in Fall River for several years in sales and marketing before retiring in 1990. She was a communicant of Saint Patrick's Church in Somerset. Shirley gathered with the British Wives Club on a weekly basis. She was past president of the Somerset Village School PTO and a former member of the Somerset Friends of Music. She also enjoyed playing the mandolin, listening to classical music, but most importantly, spending time with family and friends, especially her granddaughters.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah M. Fiore of Swansea, MA; Michelle M. Dwyer of Scituate, MA; two sons, Robert H. Martin of Fall River, MA; Peter J. Martin of Woonsocket, RI; a brother, Alfred Pacheco of North Dighton, MA; four granddaughters, Isabelle, Emma, Ava, and Mia. She is also survived by her aunt, Natalie January of Swansea, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
Her funeral will be held on Monday, January 29, at 9AM from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Saint Patrick Church, 306 South St., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial to follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. CALLING HOURS SUNDAY 3-6PM.
