SOMERSET – Lorraine E. (Graham) Williams, 89, of Somerset, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at her residence. Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Gordon W. and Gertrude (Steinauer) Graham, she was the wife of the late Eugene R. Williams. A graduate with the Class of 1940 from the Massachusetts College of Art, earning a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Mrs. Williams worked in the drafting department of the General Electric Company, based in Lynn, MA, and also for Knowles & Company. While at the Knowles Company, she designed altar and church furnishings and decorations. A freelance artist, who enjoyed silk screening and the fine arts, Mrs. Williams was a member of the Somerset Historical Society, the Friends of the Somerset Public Library, and the Greater Fall River Art Association. She also enjoyed playing tennis and played well up into her eighties. Mrs. Williams is survived by her children, Anne L. Foley of Jamaica Plain, MA, Eugene W. Tenander of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Gordon G. Williams of Tiverton, RI; four grandchildren, Daniel Foley, Graham Williams and Ana X. Williams and Mary X. Williams. Funeral InformationA Memorial Service for Mrs. Williams will be held Friday, February 29, 2008, at 6:00PM in THE HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset.
