Roger L. Gibeau

Roger L. Gibeau., 84, of Gardners Neck Rd., in Swansea passed away Frida,y September 29, 2006 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. He was the husband of sixty-three years to Jeannette (Gauthier) Gibeau. He was born in Fall River, MA on January 15, 1922, the son of the late Donat and Blanche (Mailloux) Gibeau.

Mr. Gibeau served his country during WWII with the Untied States Coast Guard. He worked for Raytheon as a systems analyst for many years before retiring in 1985. Mr. Gibeau was very active in the Town of Swansea as past chairman of Democratic Town Committee, Swansea Little League, past president of the Friends of the Cardinals, also was a very active member of the American Legion Post 303.

Survivors beside his wife of sixty three years are two sons David R. Gibeau of Swansea, MA and Carl M. Gibeau of Seekonk, MA a sister Claire Rushton of Chepachet , RI six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Richard R. Gibeau.

Funeral Information

His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9am from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10am in Saint Louis de France Church 56 Buffinton St., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery Swansea. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7pm.
