Angelina Carvalho

December 29, 1918 - July 19, 2006

Angelina (Camara) Carvalho., 87, of Endicott Street in Fall River passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. She was the wife of the late Jesse Carvalho. Born in Lowell, MA on December 29, 1918, the daughter of the late Manuel P. and Carrie (Silva) Camara.

Mrs. Carvalho started working as a seamstress for various shops in the garment industry in Fall River and then went on to work in quality control for the former Center Garment Company in Fall River for forty years. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Parish in Fall River, a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, She always had a smile on her face, and enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, sewing, playing bingo, trips to Foxwoods, and was an avid Red Sox Fan.

She is survived by a daughter Diane Duclos and her husband Thomas of Fall River, a son Jesse Carvalho Jr. of Tiverton, RI, a sister Alice Medeiros of Florida two granddaughters Sharon E. Soares and her husband Stephen of Fall River Kimberly A. DeGrazia and her husband Daniel of Somerset three great grandchildren Stephen A. Soares II of Fall River, Heather E. Soares Fall River, and Shannon R. DeGrazia l of Somerset, a niece Mary Lorraine Mellace of Florida and many other nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Adeline Cordeiro, Joseph, Manuel, John, and George Camara, and grandmother of the late Jesse Carvalho IV.

Funeral Information

Mrs. Carvalho's funeral will be held on Monday, July 24, 2006 at 9am from the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10am in Holy Trinity Church 951 Stafford Rd., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial to follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday, July 23, 2006 from 4-7PM.
