Cecelia C. (Camara) Aguiar

FALL RIVER – Cecelia C. (Camara) Aguiar, 89, of Fall River, formerly of Tiverton, RI, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009, at the Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Facility in Fall River. Born in St. Michael, the Azores, the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Maria (Soeiro) Camara. she was the wife of the late Victor C. Aguiar.

Mrs. Aguiar began her career working for the former Globe Manufacturing Co. as a spooler for several years. She then owned her own businesses, the former Paramount Sportswear, Victor Sportswear and Sherri-Scott.

Mrs. Aguiar was a communicant of Saint John of God Church in Somerset and a member of the ladies sodality. She was an avid card player and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

She leaves a daughter, Judith A. Rosa and her husband John of Somerset, MA; three grandchildren, Scott, Sherri, and Keith; and five great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Addison, Maggie, John and Aidan. She was the sister of the late Mary C. Neves, and Manuel R. and Joseph R. Camara.

Funeral Information

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at 8:00AM from the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME for FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM in Saint John of God Church, 996 Brayton Ave., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Monday, March 16, from 4:00-7:00PM in the funeral home.
