View Tribute and Sign Guestbook Helen Vandal age 97 formerly of Winter St. in Manville died Monday, October 17, 2005 in Hospice St. Antoine in North Smithfield. She was born in the Village of Manvile in Lincoln on December 3, 1907 the youngest of 17 children of the late Albert and Osina (Dubois) Vandal.
She was a life long resident of Manvile and a communicant of St. James Church and a member of the Union of Prayer at the Church in Manville. She had been a weaver for the former Manville Jencks Mill for 22 years and later was a cook at the Holy Family rectory in Woonsocket for 14 years and a housekeeper for the Hospice St. Antoine in North Smithfield until she retired. She had been a member of the Manville and Albion Golden Agers. She was predeceased by 16 brothers and sisters.
She leaves several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
Her Funeral will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at 10 AM from THE MENARD FUNERAL HOME, 71 Central St. in Manville followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. James Church, Division St. in Manville. Burial will follow in the Family lot in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Calling Hours are Wednesday, October 19, 2005 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.
