June 10, 1924 - December 29, 2006

Margaret C. “Peggy” Harney age 82 of Franklin Crossing, Franklin, MA died Friday, December 29, 2006 in Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA. She was the longtime companion of Carl R. Zajas of Franklin. She was born in Hartford, CT. June 10,1924 a daughter of the late Irving and Dorothy (Tracy) McKenna.

She had lived in Franklin for the past seven years having lived most of her life in Attleboro where she had been a member of St. Stephen's Church. Mrs. Harney had been an Executive Secretary for Project Spike of Norton, MA for 18 years before she retired in 1986. After Retirement she was a Volunteer for the Attleboro Seniors and volunteered many hours for Attorney General Jeff Pine in the RI Department of Attorney General. She was an avid reader and cross word puzzle enthusiast and enjoyed camping.

Besides her companion she leaves one son Michael C. Keith of South Easton, MA and two daughters Pamela P. Niemeyer of Attleboro and Claudia J. Berriault of Plymouth, MA. Four grandchildren and four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Patricia Paul. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday January 4, 2007 at 10 AM in St. Stephen's Church, 683 South Main Street, Attleboro. Burial will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery.
