View Tribute and Sign Guestbook FALL RIVER – Helen Anna Entin, of Fall River and Boynton Beach, FL, died on Wednesday, October 17, 2007. Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Julius A. Horvitz and Sayde (Shill) Horvitz, she was the widow of the late Attorney David Entin of Fairhaven and Fall River.
Mrs. Entin graduated from New Bedford High School, attended Tufts University and graduated from Simmons College in 1935. She married Attorney David Entin in New Bedford on June 20, 1937, and moved to Fall River where her husband's law practice was located. Mrs. Entin was very active in many civic, religious and charitable organizations, including the Women's Club, the Junior League, Brandies University Hadassah, and the Sisterhood of Temple Beth El. She was a member of the Ledgemont and Fall River Country Club.
She was the granddaughter of Flora and Samuel Horvitz, owners of the New Bedford Whaling Outfitters. She survived and was the oldest of four children, a sister, Lucille Entin, wife of Melvin Entin, of Fairhaven; and two brothers, Harold Howard and Dexter Howard of Florida. She is also survived by a son, Attorney Jeffrey S. Entin and his wife Theresa A. Entin of Bristol; a daughter, Susan J. Entin of Fall River; and two grandchildren, Jonathan S. Entin of Santa Barbara, CA, and Julie R. Entin Bettencourt and her husband Chris Bettencourt of Fall River.
Funeral Information
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2007, at 12:30PM at Temple Beth El, 385 High Street, Fall River. Memorial Observances will be held at the home of her son in Bristol, RI, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM.
