NEW BEDFORD – Ronald E. Taylor, 56, of New Bedford died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, in St Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford, after a long illness. He was the longtime companion of Cinthia Catulo of New Bedford. Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Kilian Taylor and Claire (Caron) Taylor Philipp, he was a lifelong resident of the city.

Mr. Taylor was a graduate of the Massachusetts School of Radio and Electronics in Boston and worked as an electronic technician at Aerovox for ten years until his disability. He enjoyed fresh water fishing and walking on the beach at Fort Phoenix.

Besides his companion, he is survived by his mother and her husband Frederick of Fairhaven; a son, Ronald Taylor of Dartmouth; a daughter, Sherri Ann Braga of Acushnet; two brothers, Robert K. Taylor of Blackstone and Stephen Taylor of Acushnet; five grandchildren, Samantha, Corey and Abegail Taylor, Matthew Braga and Patrick Catulo; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, March 17, 2007, from 4:00-7:00PM in the DONAGHY FUNERAL HOME, 465 County Street, New Bedford, with a service at 6:00PM. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow and interment will be private. Please omit flowers.
