View Tribute and Sign Guestbook WESTPORT–George A. Beals, 84, of Fairhaven, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 12, 2010. He was the husband of the late Millicent E. (Reece) Beals. Born in Fall River, the son of the late Brayton and Doris (Allen) Beals, he was a lifelong resident of Fairhaven and member of the First Congregational Church of Fairhaven.
Mr. Beals served in the U. S. Army during WWII and later worked as a self-employed plumber. He was a member of the George Taber Masonic Lodge AF & AM of Fairhaven.
He is survived by a son, Dennis E. Beals and his wife Elmira of Westport; two grandchildren, David Beals and Lynn Beals and her husband Scott Cordeiro; two great-grandchildren, Lucas Pax Cordero and Nina Rose Cordero; a sister, Eleanor Hebert of Florida; a brother-in-law, Albert Borges and a sister-in-law, Ann Cochran and her husband James, all of Fairhaven; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated and a private committal service with military honors was held in River-Side Cemetery.
