Wilma A. (Brooks) Marsden

TAUNTON – Wilma A. (Brooks) Marsden, 74,died comfortably at her home Monday morning, March 15, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Wilma was the loving wife of Robert G. Marsden for the past fifty-six years, showing love and compassion to every life she touched, and time spent caring for her family brought her the most joy. She was born in Dighton to the late John and Edith (Kay) Brooks and graduated from the public school system in Dighton.
Mrs. Marsden worked at the Standard Coil in Dighton in the 1950s and in her later years spent the winters in Hillsboro Beach, Fl, and the summer months on Cape Cod. Wilma spent many hours doing very delicate hand work and enjoyed her flower gardens in the summer months. She was a member of the West Congregational Church in Taunton and served on many committees plus assisted with the running of the Clam Bakes.
Besides her husband, Wilma is survived by her children, Glenn R. Marsden and his wife Cheryl of Taunton, Scott B. Marsden of Taunton, Beth A. Pellegrini of Mansfield, and Jill A. Wright and her husband Michael of Taunton. Wilma was the mother-in-law of the late Anthony Pellegrini. She was the grandmother of Danielle and Robert Marsden, David Pellegrini, Galen and Garrett Garofalo, Caleb, Michael and Tiffany Wright. Wilma was also the sister of John Brooks and his wife Julia of Hillsborough, NC, and Robert Brooks and his wife Ella of Grifton, NC, as well as the aunt of several.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service in the West Congregational Church, Winthrop St. (Route 44), Taunton Friday, March 19, 2010, at 10:00AM, with interment to follow in the Gulliver Cemetery, Taunton. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, March 18, from 4:00-8:00PM in THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton.
