View Tribute and Sign Guestbook TAUNTON – Antonio S. Fernandes, 58, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, in Morton Hospital, Taunton, following a brief illness. Born in Portugal, son of the late Edouardo Intiado Fernandes and Joaquina H. (Santos) Fernandes, he was the husband of Maria (Cunha) Fernandes of Taunton.
Educated in Portugal and a resident of Taunton for the past thirty-four years. Mr. Fernandes was employed as a custodian for the City of Taunton Schools, most recently at Barnum School, and was a communicant of the Annunciation of the Lord Church. Tony was a member of the Taunton Sports Club, a big soccer fan, enjoyed fishing, and will be well remembered for driving on his scooter all around Taunton.
Antonio was the father of Lisa Fernandes and Michelle Fernandes of Taunton and Carlos Fernandes and his wife Nicole of Berkley; and the grandfather of Stella and Scarlette Fernandes of Berkley. He was the brother of Joao Santos Fernandes and Soledade Amaral, both of Portugal, and Emila dos Santos Lourenco of Germany.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Annunciation of the Lord Church, 31 First St., Taunton, Thursday, July 8, 2010, at 10:00 AM, with interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Those attending the Mass are requested to report to the church directly Thursday morning. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, July 7, from 4:00-8:00 PM in THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton.
