View Tribute and Sign Guestbook FALL RIVER – Jose Antonio “Joseph” Andrade Peixoto, 57, of Fall River, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at the Boston Medical Center in Boston. Born in Sao Roque, Pico, Acores, a son of Branca Andrade of Cambridge, MA, he was the husband of Mary Rose Cruz.
Mr. Peixoto worked in a variety of jobs over the course of his life. He was employed as a case manager for a time in Cambridge, MA; later he worked as a baker for many years, and toward the end of his career he was self employed as a general contractor and property manager. He had been a resident of Fall River for twelve years, after relocating from Cambridge, MA.
Joe was an optimistic individual with a great sense of humor and loved life. As a man who enjoyed a good political debate, he had a strong belief in equality for all and did good for many. He enjoyed spending time near the ocean and listening to music. He also had a great respect for the environment and preserving the beauty of nature. Joe was a family man and will be missed by many beloved friends and family members.
Besides his wife and mother and godmother, he is survived by three sons, Scott Joseph Peixoto and his wife Sanja Markovic Peixoto of Everett, MA, Elliot Stuart Peixoto of Somerville, MA, and John Andrade of Fall River; a daughter, Olivia Rose Peixoto, also of Fall River. He leaves a sister, Fatima Cabral of Cambridge; five brothers, Jose Manuel Bizarria of Sao Miguel, Acores, Antonio “Tony” Bizarria of Everett, Luis Bizarria of New Hampshire, Paul Bizarria and Lenny Bizarria, both of Somerville. He is also survived by two uncles and an aunt, and by many nieces and nephews. He was the grandfather of Veronica Peixoto Markovic, Daniel Markovic. Joseph was also the beloved godson (Madrinha) of Eduardina Peixoto and the late Fernando Peixoto.
Funeral Information
His funeral service will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010, at 12:00 Noon in THE HATHAWAY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 11:00 am – 12:00 noon. Burial will be private.
