Ruth J. (Pacheco) Capeto

TIVERTON, RI – Ruth J. (Pacheco) Capeto, 91, of Tiverton, RI, passed away Friday, August 20, 2010, at Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Manuel R. and Mary Sophie (Dupont) Pacheco, she was the beloved wife to the late Arthur Capeto.

A 1937 graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Mrs. Capeto worked for the former A&P Company as a cashier for thirty-one years before retiring several years ago. Ruth was a communicant of Holy Rosary Parish in Fall River. She and her late husband Arthur had traveled extensively throughout their lives together. Mrs. Capeto also enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.

Survivors include her friends and caregivers, Charles St. George and his wife Suzanne of Fall River, MA, John and Judy Raposa, Alfred and Lee Gonsalves, Andy and Madeline Mello, all of Tiverton, RI; and a niece, Ann Marie Vertentes of Swansea, MA. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth was the sister of the late Mary Bernard, Mildred Medeiros, and Gloria and Olive Pacheco.

Calling hours for Mrs. Capeto will be held Wednesday, August 25, from 8:00 – 10:00 am in the HATHAWAY HOME for FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Holy Rosary Parish, 120 Beattie St., Fall River, with burial to follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
