FALL RIVER – Ethel M. (Parkinson) Paiva, 75, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2007, at the Somerset Ridge Nursing Care Center in Somerset. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late William and Ida (Savod) Parkinson, she was the wife of the late George R. Paiva.

Mrs. Paiva devoted her life to raising her family. She was an active member of the Union United Methodist Church in Fall River, and also very involved with the church choir. Mrs. Paiva enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

She leaves are two daughters, Jill Kloc of South Attleboro, MA, and Kerry J. Boyd of Fall River; a son, Wade Paiva of Somerset; a sister, Nancy Stevenson of Florida; a brother, William Parkinson of Lamoine, Maine; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Brandon Paiva and the sister of the late Muriel Myers, Dorothy Verville, Lillian Hopkins and Ruth Lombardi.

Funeral Information

Her funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007, at 10:00AM in THE HATHAWAY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 1813 Robeson St., Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River. CALLING HOURS with VIDEO PHOTO ALBUM will be held on Thursday from 4:00-7:00PM in the funeral home.
