Dorothy M. E. (Fairchild) Jones

ASSONET – Dorothy M. E. (Fairhurst) Jones, 87, of Kevin Drive, Assonet, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the home of her daughter, Center Street, Dighton. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late, James Augustus and Mary Winiford (Hatfield) Fairhurst, she was the wife of the late John Wilson Jones, Sr.

Mrs. Jones was a resident of Copicut for twenty-two years prior to moving to Assonet. A 1961 graduate of the Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School LPN program, she worked at the former Truesdale Hospital and Cliff Lawn Nursing Home, before retiring in 1975. She was a member of the Fall River LPN Club and the Rainbow Girls.

Mrs. Jones leaves two daughters, Mary Lou Nacaula of Assonet, MA, and Ann Marie Allen of Dighton, MA; one son, John W. Jones, Jr., of Seekonk, MA; six grandchildren, Richard and Ray Nacaula of Assonet, Roy Nacaula of Fall River, and Lester Allen, III, and Jean- Marie Allen of Dighton, and Chad Allen of Fall River; two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Joe Stark of Hawaii; and one great-great-grandson, Jeremy Stark of Hawaii.

Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 9, 2008, at 1:00PM in the United Church of Assonet, North Main Street. Burial will be private.
