View Tribute and Sign Guestbook DIGHTON – Danny Carpenter, Sr., 67, of Millers Lane in Dighton, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at his residence. Born in Dighton, the son of the late Joseph and Ruth (Whitmore) Carpenter, he was married for forty-eight years to Delores (Charves) Carpenter.
He was the owner of Danny Carpenter General Contractor for sixteen years before retiring in 2003. He was a communicant of Saint Peter’s Church in Dighton, a member of Pilgrim Sands, Trail Riders, and the Over the Hill Gang. Danny enjoyed attending dirt bike races with his grandchildren, taking trips to Foxwoods, traveling to Florida, and most importantly spending time with family.
In addition to his wife, Delores, he leaves a daughter, Delores Nunes; four sons, Danny Carpenter, Jr., Darryl Carpenter, Derek Carpenter, and Drew Carpenter, all of Dighton; a sister, Arlene Pontes, and a brother, Alphonse Carpenter, both of Swansea; ten grandchildren, Danny, Ryan, Amanda, Scott, Ashley, Megan, David Demetrius, Tenay, and Emma; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Lillian Botelho, Irene Cestodio, Pauline Carpenter, Lawrence Carpenter, and Leo Carpenter.
Funeral Information
Mr. Carpenter’s funeral will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at 9:00AM from the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00MA in Saint Peter’s Church in Dighton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow the Mass in the Dighton Community Church Cemetery in Dighton.
