Ella N. (Fleming) JacquesFebruary 08, 2009
TAUNTON – Ella N. (Fleming) Jacques, 77, of Taunton, died Sunday, February 8, 2009, at Christopher Heights surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Attleboro, the daughter of the late Robert and Anna (Arnold) Fleming, she was the beloved wife of the late Robert W. Jacques, Sr., to whom she had been married for over fifty-five years. Mrs. Jacques worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, R. W. Jacques & Sons for over thirty-eight years, while also working nights as the switchboard operator at the old Fernandes Warehouse in Norton for more than eleven years. But most of all, she was a caregiver and one gal entire support system for any family member or friend that needed help. She always put others first. Her favorite pastime was heading to the Cape house with as many family members as she could muster; and then it was off to the beach for a good blanket spot. She loved people watching at both Old and New Silver Beach on Cape Cod. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. There was always a cake or Toll House Cookies on the counter. In addition to her love of fifty-eight years, she was the devoted mother of Christine D. Jacques of Barnstable, MA, Robert W. Jacques, Jr., of Taunton, MA, J. Scott Jacques of Attleboro, and Stephen P. Jacques of Attleboro. She was the sister of the late Lillian and Ruth Fleming. She was the loving grandmother of ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
