Gertrude Mae (Alger) Ryder

View Tribute and Sign Guestbook Gertrude Mae (Alger) Ryder, 93 years old, died in the Taunton Nursing Home on Sunday evening, February 26, 2012.
She was born in Brockton, daughter of the late Charles and Edith (Nelson) Alger. For over 50 years she has been a resident of East Taunton. A very active member of the First Baptist Church of Raynham, she sang in the choir and volunteered with the choir to visit correctional institutions in the area. Mrs. Ryder was employed for many years as an inspector for Swank’s. She was noted for having some of her poems published and for her many charitable activities.
She was the wife of the late Raymond Ryder and is the mother of William Ryder of East Taunton. Jeanne Lovering of Falmouth, Judith Smith and Brenda Bubeck both of Brockton. Mrs. Ryder is the grandmother of 8, great grandmother of 13 and great great grandmother of 6.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., (Route 138 South), Taunton on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Noontime. Visiting hours will be from 10 AM to Noontime. Interment will be held at a later date in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
