FALL RIVER – Emily (Green) Eccles, 81, of Fall River, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at the Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River. Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Daniel and Louise (Fallows) Green, She was the wife of William R. Eccles, Sr., with whom she shared more than fifty-seven years of married life.
Mrs. Eccles began working for the American Thread Company, and then spent her early years raising her family. Later she went to work for the R. A. McWhirr Company in Fall River, where she remained for several years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church in Fall River, and enjoyed reading and being with her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Eccles leaves two sons, William R. Eccles, Jr., of Somerset, MA, and Drew D. Eccles of Cranston, RI; a brother, Alfred Green of Bellows Falls, VT. She was the loving grandmother of Erin, William, III, Jennifer, Justin, Kaitlin, Zachary, and Maria, and the great-grandmother of Dylan and Brandon. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ethel Burns, Austin Green, John and Clarence Banks.
Funeral Information
A Requiem Eucharist for Mrs. Eccles will be held on Monday, November 26, 2007, at 10:00AM in Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, 125 Mason Street, Fall River. Relatives and friends attending the funeral are invited to go directly to the Church. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River.
