Phyllis M. Gifford

Phyllis M ( Chandler) Gifford, 87 of McGann Terrace died Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the Alden Court Nursing Home Fairhaven. She was the wife of the late Lloyd M. Gifford. She was born in Fairhaven on May 7 1919, a daughter of the late Chester & Ruby ( Stevens) Chandler.

She was a Key punch operator for the Town of Fairhaven for many years before retiring. She was a lifelong Fairhaven resident, a member of the 1st Congregational church , was an avid Line Dancer, enjoyed yard sales, spending time with her family, and also Bingo.

She is survived by 3 sons Wayne B. Gifford of Plantation Florida, Douglas L. Gifford of Fairhaven, Ronald F. Gifford of Acushnet, a daughter Judith A. Poutre of Jacksonville Florida, grandmother of Colleen Gifford of Fairhaven, Hannah Gifford of Plantation Florida, Brian Poutre of Jacksonville Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Chester “ Buddy” Chandler, Wendell Chandler, and also the late Bernice Briggs. She was the grandmother of the late Scott Poutre.

Funeral Information

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:00am in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven, MA, burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery Fairhaven. Calling hours are Tuesday, June 20, 2006 from from 4 - 8 pm.
