William Alua

SOMERSET – William Alua, 80, of Somerset, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2007, at his residence. Born in Westport, MA, the son of the late William Alua, Sr., and Florence (Beal) Alua, he was the husband of Loretta (Desrosiers) Alua.

Mr. Alua served his country during WWII with the United States Marine Corps. He then worked for thirty years as a police officer for the City of Fall River, retiring in 1989. He was a communicant of Saint Louis de France Church in Swansea, a member VFW Post, the Massachusetts Police Association, the Police Relief Association, and a former member of the Fall River Elks Lodge.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Alua is survived by two daughters, Diane Alua-Rioux and Sandra Alua, both of Somerset; a brother, George Beal of Fall River; two grandchildren, Danny Alua-Rioux, and Diandra Bowers; and four great-grandchildren, Destani, Dakota, Alexis, and Trinity.

Funeral Information

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2007, at 10:00AM in Saint Louis de France Church, 56 Buffington St., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be private; flowers and calling hours are omitted. All arrangements have been lovingly entrusted to the care of the HATHAWAY COMMUNITY HOME FOR FUNERALS, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset.
