Antone Fierra

View Tribute and Sign Guestbook TAUNTON – Antone Fierra, 98, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010, in Life Care Center of Attleboro. Born in Taunton, the son of the late Amancio and Maria (Aguiar) Ferreira, he was the husband of the late Eileen (Bradshaw) Fierra, with whom he shared a forty-nine year marriage prior to her death in 1989.
He was educated in the Taunton Public School, and Antone, affectionately known as, “The Boss,” owned and operated Tony’s Gardens, a vegetable farm on Tremont Street in Taunton for over forty years. He was an avid hunter, a founding member of the Taunton Fish and Game Association and a life member of the Taunton Air Force Association. He loved his home and family deeply.
He was the father of David Fierra and his wife Annette of Falmouth, MA, Robert Fierra and his wife Helen of Taunton, Sheila Goddard and her husband Donald of Taunton, and Roy Fierra and his wife Dorothy of Taunton. Antone was the grandfather of nine and the great- grandfather of sixteen. He was the brother of the late Mary Ferreira, Rose Pinkos, Emma Monterio, Peter Ferreira and Manuel Fierra. He is also survived by his loving niece, Gloria Fournier of Taunton, and by several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service in THE CRAPO-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 350 Somerset Ave. (Route 138 South), Taunton Friday, January 22, 2010, at 12:00 Noon. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 10:00 a.m. to Noon prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery.
