Gilbert A.E. Quintin

Gilbert A. E. Quintin, 76, of New Bedford died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 in St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford. Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Hormidas A. and the late Anna M. (LaMarre) Quintin, he was a lifelong resident of the city and communicant of the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.

A graduate of New Bedford High School, Mr. Quintin served 20 years in the Coast Guard from 1951 until 1971as a Chief Boatswains Mate. He would later work as a mail clerk for 30 years for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the American Legion.

Mr. Quintin is survived by a friend, Lou Kaeterle, Jr. and his family and Mary Louise Davis and a cousin.

Funeral Information

His funeral will be Monday, August 28, 2006 at 8:30 AM from the Donaghy Funeral Home, 465 County Street, New Bedford with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in the Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery #2, New Bedford.
