ATTLEBORO – Florence C. Gigone, 89, of Bank St., Attleboro, died at home Sunday, February 10, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Kensington, PA, a daughter of the late J. Elmer and Daisy Mae (Kern) Cooke, she was the wife of the late Otto P. Gigone, the retired Physical Director of the Attleboro YMCA, who died in 1994. A resident of Attleboro since 1964, having previously lived in Cranston, RI, Mrs. Gigone was employed as a sales lady for the former London’s Department Store of Attleboro for many years before she retired. She was very active in the Christadelphian Church and had been a volunteer at Beta Community Services in Attleboro. She enjoyed playing the piano and was an avid gardener and Red Sox and Patriots fan. She enjoyed swimming at the YMCA in Attleboro and wintering in Arizona. She was a crossword puzzle enthusiast and always completed the puzzles in ink. Mrs. Gigone leaves one son, Peter A. and his wife Evelyn Gigone of Schenectady, NY; four daughters, Frances L. Martin of Sun City, AZ, Kathy G. Theroux of Attleboro, Robin L. and her husband Paul G. “Luke” Lasky of North Attleboro, and Christine L. McCutcheon and her husband Harry E. McCutcheon, Jr., of Attleboro; one brother, Arthur K. Cooke of Sun City, AZ, and one sister, Louise R. Miller of Glendale, AZ. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Sue, Kelly, Carrie, Lynne, Stephen, David and Bobby, five great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Tricia A. Schwab and the sister of the late Jack R. Cooke. Funeral InformationHer funeral will be held Thursday, February 14, 2008, at 11:00AM in THE FOLEY-HATHAWAY FUNERAL HOME, 126 South Main St. (Route 152), in Attleboro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held in the FOLEY CHAPEL Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00PM.
