View Tribute and Sign Guestbook FALL RIVER – Leathia (Roe) Gallagher, 95, of Dartmouth, died Saturday, May 5, 2007, at the Sarah Brayton Nursing Home in Fall River. She was the wife of the late Patrick S. Gallagher. Born in Niagra Falls, Canada, the daughter of the late George and the late Elizabeth (Haslem) Roe, she lived most of her life in New Bedford, later settling in Fairhaven for thirty years, before moving to Dartmouth in 2002. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Fairhaven.
Mrs. Gallagher worked at Aerovox for over twenty years as a quality control inspector. She also volunteered for many years at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford and was a Practical Nurse, doing private duty and at Sol-E-Mar in Dartmouth.
She is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth Martin and her husband Robert of Murrells Inlet, SC, Patricia Jason and her husband Chester of Fairhaven, Kathleen Hall and her husband Charles “Skip” of Little Compton, RI, and Maureen Roderiques and her husband Jeffrey of Lakeville; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gallagher was the mother of the late James P. Gallagher and sister of the late Doris Taylor and Evelyn Thomasson.
Funeral Information
Her funeral will be Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at 8:30AM from the FAIRHAVEN FUNERAL HOME, 117 Main St., Fairhaven, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Church, Fairhaven. Interment will follow in the River-Side Cemetery, Fairhaven. Calling hours in the funeral home are respectfully omitted.
