Edward J. Parker, 84, of Pratt Avenue in Somerset passed away Sunday December 3, 2006 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River he was the husband of sixty four years to Pauline M. (Michaud) Parker. Born in Oswego, New York the son of the late Edward J. Parker and Melrose (Reed) Parker. He served his country during WWII with the United States Navy. He then started his own business in Newport, RI Chiefs Cleaning Service which he had for twenty years. He was a communicant of Saint Thomas More Church in Somerset, member of the Fall River Rod & Gun Club, National Rifle Association, American Legion Post in Somerset, Disabled American Veterans, he enjoyed being a marksman and spending time with his family. Survivors beside his wife of sixty four years are a son Alfred E. Parker of Rehoboth, MA a sister Margaret Hallinan of Illinois three grandchildren Heather, Courtney, Donald, three great grandchildren Michaela, Parker, Harley, and father in law of Kathy Parker of Georgia. He was the father of the late Pamela J. Parker and Richard Parker. Funeral InformationHis funeral will be held on Thursday at 9am from the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset, MA followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10am in Saint Thomas More Church 386 Luther Ave., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial to follow with Military Honors in Notre Dame Cemetery Fall River. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7pm. |
