Charles W. "Chuck" Hackney Jr.

Charles W “Chuck” . Hackney, Jr. husband of the late Julia (Souto) Hackney, died in Charlton Hospital, Fall River on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 following a short illness. He was 79 years old and was born in Fall River to the late Charles and Rosanna (Roberts) Hackney

He was educated in Fall River and was a US Navy Veteran of WW II. For over 16 years he was employed by H & L Bloom Bus Company of Taunton as the Supervisor of Buses for the Town of Berkley. He was a member of the Berkley Happy Hearts and Berkley American Legion Post. He was a communicant of St Bernard's Church in Assonet.

He is survived by a daughter Susan Mars and her husband Gary of Illionis and a step son Steven Almeida and his wife Ann of Berkley, a brother George Hackney of FL and grandchildren Jennifer, Jared and Jason Briggs and Jennifer and Melissa Almeida.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in St Bernard's Church, Assonet on Friday, March 24, 2006 at 10AM. Interment oak Grove Cemetery Fall River. Visiting hours on Thursday, March 23, 2006 from 4-8PM in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave. (route 138 South) Taunton.
